Historical Description. Roy Lichtenstein The Mask, from Brushstroke Figures Series, is an arrangement of varying colors and textures, combining into an abstracted suggestion of a nstein’s famed Benday dots, loose and dynamic brushstrokes and graphic solid-colored shapes are layered upon each other, creating a confident composition.

ROY LICHTENSTEIN Still Life with Picasso, from Hommage à Picasso (C. ; G. ) screenprint in colors, , on Arc signed and dated in pencil, annotated 'AP' (one of 30 artist's proofs, the edition there were also 15 épreuves d'artiste), published by Propyläen Verlag, Berlin, and Panthéon Press, Rome, with the artist's inkstamp on the reverse, with full margins, generally. For the last four years, I have researched every aspect of this self-portrait to confirm its artist identity!! Today, I can confirm the artist of this self-portrait, it is ROY FOX LICHTENSTEIN!! I was able to match the signature to the “rather primitive notion of patterned linear repetition”, or unknown markings (which look like Hebrew) on the side of an airplane in the RFL’s.
